Data

We offer a free and easy to use electronic data collection tool. Carers are able to quickly enter prefilled custom behaviour data via their smart phone. ABCdataForm is accessed from a QR code or associated weblink. All data entries are stored on an Australian database and can be converted into behavioural data graphs upon request. See examples below.

Assess

We work with you to assess behaviours of concern. We document assessment information in a comprehensive behaviour assessment report.

The assessment process involves:

  • Interviews
  • Observations
  • Records Review

Each behaviour assessment report includes a Functional Behaviour Analysis (FBA) and a formulation of behavioural contingencies. We hypothesise the function of behaviour and provide you with an understanding of why the behaviour of concern may be occurring.

Each behaviour support practitioner is supported by a clinical lead to develop a deeper understanding for the presenting behaviour of concern.

Plan

We provide interim and comprehensive Behaviour Support Plans (BSP). Each BSP is based on the function of behaviours and information from the behaviour assessment report. ABC behaviour support practitioners provide clearly written and easy to understand practical strategies.  Each is BSP is developed using the NDIS template based on the multi-element format.

Behaviour support strategies include:

  • Preventative strategies
  • Skill development programs
  • Reinforcement schedules
  • Response strategies

The clinical lead is a proficient practitioner and approves each behaviour support plan.

Train

BSP implementation training is provided for parents and support teams. The behaviour support practitioner who developed the BSP will train it and explain the rationale for each recommended approach. Practitioners also work with participants to teach skills and demonstrate how to behave in social contexts.

ABC behaviour support also often provide general behaviour support training for workplaces and larger team environments. This is particularly motivating for new support staff and teams or exposing entrenched work cultures to positive behaviour support.

Review

We provide regular reviews and update the behaviour support plan. This often occurs on a quarterly basis. The behaviour data graphs are provided and reviewed. Strategies are updated with consideration to progress and changes which may have occurred in the context of the participants support environment.

ABC behaviour support practitioners also provide behaviour review summary reports and recommendations to support the ongoing development and needs of participants to ensure we maintain quality of life and reduce behaviours of concern.

Flexible

Flexible hours can be provided depending on available funding. Flexible hours are designed to respond to crisis, provide advise and develop programs ad hoc as required by teams who often support participants with complex needs.
